OUR CURRICULUM

We believe children learn best by doing. Our program and curriculum are structured around thematic units of study that are exciting to young children. Teachers provide a wide variety of experiences for students in a caring, nurturing, stimulating atmosphere.

All of our classrooms are set up in Learning Centers. These centers allow children to work independently and with others. Children learn how to create, explore, follow directions, and care for materials. The centers are arranged in a variety of interest areas including literacy, dramatic play, blocks, puzzles and games, and sensory exploration. The toys, games, and educational materials in each center are changed on a regular basis and coordinated with the particular unit being studied.  Teachers write educational learner objectives for the materials placed in the learning centers based on the TEKS and Early Childhood Outcomes set by the Texas Education Agency.

Each classroom also provides learning opportunities in a large group setting. These activities include stories, music, movement, and discussions about the particular unit of study. These activities help students acquire the skills needed to work with others.

Curriculum Enrichment

Spanish, music, library, and PE are all part of the weekly curriculum. Students attend each class once a week. Students also attend Preschool Chapel every Wednesday morning.
