Environment & Facilities

On Wednesdays, our school gathers for worship where we lift our voices in song and celebration of our faith in our Savior Jesus Christ.  Chapels are held in the Redeemer Lutheran Church sanctuary.

For children to care about the environment, they must experience nature. What better place than on the school playground?  Our butterfly garden serves as an outdoor classroom for all grades PreK through 8th. We are a certified Schoolyard Habitat, are involved in MonarchWatch, Junior Master Gardeners, and we supply the Austin Meals on Wheels with fresh herbs. Boy Scouts from Troop 413 have achieved their Eagle Scout ranking by helping construct our gardens with the labor and support of schoolchildren, parents, and church volunteers. Students enjoy fresh vegetable year-round while preparing snacks and learning healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits.  Redeemer Lutheran School Gardens have been featured in local gardening shows, newspapers, and magazines.

Redeemer is blessed with a Middle School regulation-sized gymnasium.  Children from 1st through 5th grade enjoy physical education daily. Children in Kindergarten, take part in P.E. four days of the week.  Our Middle School Program offers P.E. every other day.  The gym is used for our competitive sports program.

Sports fields are located on the back portion of the campus and are used for a variety of purposes including but not limited to our competitive sports programs, elementary field days, and more.

From infants to eighth grade, students come to the library to check out books, gain library/research skills, hear stories, take Accelerated Reader quizzes, shop at our Accelerated Reader store, but most of all, gain a love of reading and learning!

Our resource room hosts Power Center, where struggling students are given additional help and instruction.  Students visit the Power Center for a range of modifications--oral testing, additional help, re-teaching, interventions, etc.

We recognize the importance of play in the lives of children. We have state-of-the-art, age-appropriate playgrounds, which offer challenging and creative play areas for our students. Our school has been the focus of the longest study of the importance of play and developmentally appropriate playgrounds in the United States: the University of Texas Play and Playground Research Project. Thirty-three Doctoral dissertations have been written based on research done on our playgrounds.

CAFETERIA: LUNCH PROGRAM - Hot Meal Program (optional)

"L&L Catering provides a Hot Meal Program for Lunch at Redeemer Lutheran School daily.  L&L Catering was created over eight years ago by two mothers who wanted to improve their children’s lunch program. "We hired a nutritionist to create kid-friendly recipes that were healthy, nutritious, and balanced. Our goal was to educate children's palates to enjoy wholesome and healthy foods." To learn more about the schools' programs:

Redeemer has a nurse on campus during the regular school year between 8:30am - 3:30pm daily.
