Physical Education (P.E.)

Encouraging fitness is part of the Whole Child Development. It directly correlates with positive academics, along with physical, social and emotional wellness.

 

  • Designated P.E. Teacher, Mrs. Jana Redmond for 1st – 5th Grades.
  • Daily P.E. for 1st grade through 5th grades.
  • Kindergarten has P.E. 4 times per week with Kindergarten Teachers.

Multiple Locations

Indoor gymnasium and outdoor campus areas.

 

Community-wide Programs

Marathon Kids (marathonkids.org)

Jump Rope for Heart (heart.org).

Mileage Club In-school running program.

 

Intramural Activities Program

After-school sports and games for grades 4-5.

A Variety of Sports Skills are taught:

  • Volleyball
  • Kickball
  • Softball
  • Floor Hockey
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Football
  • Racquet sports.

 

Developmental Gymnastics

Tumbling, bar, balance beam, springboard, and rope climb.

 

Rhythm Activities

Dance, parachute, jump rope, rhythm sticks, and juggling.

 

Group Games

Variations of tag, dodgeball, and cooperative games.

 

Physical Fitness

Skills Assessments Given in 4th and 5th grades.

 

Health Fitness Lessons

Cardiovascular health, nutrition, muscles/bones/joints, drug and alcohol awareness, water safety, and more.

 

Annual Field Days

Age-appropriate Field Days Fun outside for Grades 1-3 and 4-5.
