STUDIO POLICIES

In order to provide optimum learning for each student there are some basic rules that need to be followed by parents and students.

  1. Students need to have all necessary materials at each lesson: Music (parents are responsible for the purchase of lesson books), instrument (where applicable), pencil, and other materials as requested by the teacher.
  2. Students must report to their lessons promptly.
  3. Daily practice. This can be determined by your goals. More practice results in more progress. An average of 4, 30-minute practice sessions per week are recommended.
  4. Students must be able to practice on an adequate instrument.
  5. If a student must miss a lesson it is imperative that the PA teacher be notified 24 hours in advance.
    • Please note: PA teachers are not networked through Redeemer Lutheran School office and not automatically notified of absences. PA teachers are not required to make up lessons where they were not notified 24 hours in advance. This includes school sporting events and field trips.
    • No refunds are given for unexcused absences.
  6. Neatness is expected. Students should come to their lessons with clean hands and trimmed nails.
  7. Water may be brought to drink, otherwise no food or drinks are allowed in the lesson.
  8. Students must be supervised by an adult before and after lessons.
  9. Child care policy states that Performing Arts students enrolled in after-school care up through Grade 2 must be escorted to and from lessons by an adult. Parents must:
    • Notify child care your student will be taking lessons and when
    • Coordinate pickup/dropoff with music teacher
