GREEN RIBBON SCHOOL
Redeemer Lutheran School has been recognized as a Green Ribbon School Recipient.
Green Ribbon Schools promote healthy living for students, parents, staff and community. By taking steps to create a healthy and environmentally-friendly campus, by encouraging outdoor physical activity and healthy eating habits and by connecting students to nature, Green Ribbon Schools help students reach their potential to be healthier, happier, and smarter.
Green Ribbon Schools
is a shared knowledge network where teachers and school organizations can publicly document the projects they are doing each year on their campus, while earning recognition and awards. The website is not only a great resource to find projects that are happening at other schools that are a great fit for your campus, but it also acts as an on-going resume for your club or classroom.
Redeemer Lutheran School has qualified for the Green Ribbon Schools Award based upon some of the following projects:
- Campus-wide recycling
- Single Stream Recycling
- Milkweed Patch
- Meals On Wheels Gardens
- Healthy Lifestyles
- Playground nature areas
- Eagle Scout Project History
- Outdoor Classroom Dedication
- Aphid Observations
- Nature play, school nature area
- Smithsonian SHOUT Tree-Banding Project
